The Blackhawk football team of 1963 was the first football team of Pea Ridge High School. Coach was Joe Dorman. Team members included standing, from left: Dorman, Terry Coffee, J.C. Beaver, Jim Glasscock, Bob Self, David Webb, Chuck Harris, Richard Chasteen, Calvin Jobe, Roger Ross and Bruce Bowen and Kent Ruddick, managers; bottom, David Kitchen, Dennis Cottrell, Burlene Reddell, Johnny Ruddick, Steve Patton, Sherman Sutherland, Douglas McKinney, Edward Slane, Wayne Herdlicka, Ronnie Seeley and Robert Green. Not pictured was Jerry Bowman, No. 73.
Through a joint effort of community members, the Pea Ridge Blackhawk football team was created and began their first season in September 1963, in eight-man football.
