Jimmy Royle Ellis

Jimmy Royle Ellis, 79, of Bentonville, Ark., died Aug. 10, 2022, in Springdale Health and Rehab. He was born Sept. 30, 1942, in Barry County, Mo., to Loyd Nimon Ellis and Delma June Harrell Ellis.

He married Connie Lee Keene on Jan. 24, 1964.

He retired from Wal-Mart Security and was a farmer. He enjoyed cooking for everyone, loved music, dancing and traveling. He loved his grandchildren and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washburn.

He was preceded in death by his father; his wife, Connie Ellis; son, Kently Ellis; and sister, Laveta "Tweedle" Boyd.

Survivors are his mother, Delma June Ellis of Washburn, Mo.; daughter, Lana Patterson of Bentonville; a sister, Fran Horton, of Diamond, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren

Visitation was at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, before the service in First Baptist Church, Washburn, Mo.

Service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, in Washburn First Baptist Church.

Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Burial was in Dent Cemetery.

Marla Christine Gastineau

Marla Christine Gastineau, 56, died on Aug. 13, 2022, in Circle of Life Hospital in Bentonville, Ark., after lengthy complications from Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes and a surgery that left her paralyzed. She was born Feb. 11, 1966, in Wichita Kan., to Robbie and Avaon Gastineau.

She was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes when she was 5 years old. She soon learned how to give her own shots so she could lead a normal life and was always determined that her disease was not going to define her. She grew up In Pea Ridge, Ark., on a farm on Patterson Road. She ALWAYS had an animal that she was nurturing or loving. She played basketball and was a cheerleader in High School.

Her first job was at the Pea Ridge Grocery store, then the Pizza Hut in Pea Ridge. Shortly after graduating high school, she went to work with her dad at Daisy BB. At 26 years old, she attended college at the University of Arkansas and received a bachelor's degree in elementary education, one of her lifetime dreams. She developed diabetic retinopathy while attending college and had several surgeries during that time to help correct her vision. She spent a semester attending college blind. but that didn't stop her, she received her degree.

She taught various grades, but mostly kindergarten, at Pea Ridge Elementary, Elm Tree Elementary and Cooper Elementary. During her tenure at Elm Tree, she obtained her master's degree while continuing to teach.

She eventually had to give up her teaching career from complications due to her diabetes.

Marla was a true prayer warrior, and she loved her Lord and continuously prayed for any and every one who requested, or who she knew needed prayers, even when was so sick herself, she never faltered from her faith and her love to pray for others. She was an amazing role model for many of her friends and family.

She did have a feisty side to her though, she loved, and she loved hard. She absolutely loved to make people laugh, and always had a smile on her face. She was one of the best joke tellers ever. Anyone who spent time with Marla, knew she was a kindhearted loving Christian. She attended the Church of Christ and River of Faith Church.

Marla was beyond blessed to have so many friends and family who truly loved and cared for her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Avaon and Robbie Gastineau, and her nephew, Trevor Warren.

Survivors are her fur babies, Deogee Mae and Nina Marie; brothers, Jack Gastineau and Jim Gastineau (Nickie); sister, Elaine Gastineau (Rusty Beeson); nephew, Wesley Gastineau (Kathy); niece, Valerie German, (Josh Lawson); great nephews, Joseph Warren and Remington George; great nieces, Alissa Gastineau and Liv German-Lawson; and close family relative, Tammy Warren.

May you rest in peace, Mar, Sis, Mar Cat, Pooh, Pooh Cat, Pooh Bear, Squirrel.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, in Benton County Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled at 12 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, in First Baptist Church, Pea Ridge.

Interment is scheduled to follow in Hickman Cemetery near Washburn, Mo.

Charlotte D. Kennan

Charlotte D. Kennan, 97, of Fayetteville died Sunday Aug. 7, 2022. She was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Rogers, Ark., to Chloe and Vera Berry Stephenson.

A few years later the family moved to the Pea Ridge area, where she graduated from high school. On May 6, 1945, she married George B. Kennan of Rogers in Brownwood, Texas, at an Army base. He shipped out days later for a year tour in World War II. Upon returning, he went to work for Southwestern Bell in Rogers. They moved around the state before making northwest Arkansas their home in 1964.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and her husband, George (Burnie) Kennan.

Survivors are her son, Steve Kennan and his wife Pam of Fayetteville; two granddaughters, Laura Bennett of Springdale, and Jill Jorgensen and husband Justin of Fayetteville; great-grandsons, Colin Bennett, Carter Bennett, Jaxson Jorgensen, and Hudson Jorgensen.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, in Moore's Chapel.

Entombment was a private family gathering at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or animal shelter or favorite charity.

Shawn Dane Landrus

Shawn Dane Landrus, 51, of Pea Ridge, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2022. He was born June 8, 1971, in Bloomington, Ill., and was raised by his grandparents, Charles and Elaine Raney in West Fork, Ark.

He graduated from West Fork High School in 1989 and then joined the U.S. Army. He worked in Logistics for Swift Trucking in Lowell, Ark.

He was a jokester, a entertainer and loved to make people laugh. Shawn was a championship dart player, computer designer, a computer gamer, loved his kids and being with his family. Shawn was a organ donor thru Aurora of Arkansas because he loved people.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Survivors are his wife, Crystal Russell of the home; four children, Amy Hill and husband Kenton of Fayetteville, Kim Landrus of Fayetteville, Callen Russell and Andrew Russell of Pea Ridge; a sister, Shari Marshall of Bloomington, Ill.

No services are planned at this time.

Arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.

Christine Gaye Neil

Christine Gaye Neil, 73, of Lowell, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on Monday, Nov. 8, 1948 in Plymouth, Mich., to Albert Martin and Charlotte Sybil Horvath (Luzius).

She had lived in northwest Arkansas since 1958, where she graduated and then attended college in Tulsa, Okla. She married the love of her life of 50 years, Gene Neil, on Nov. 22, 1972. She worked as a receptionist for many years before retiring.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lowell, where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed her pets: Angus, Dusty and Rusty, swimming, walking, hiking, shopping, shoes, eating, was an avid reader and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eddie Sly; and her parents, Albert and Charlotte.

Survivors include her husband, Cecil Eugene Neil; two children, Jeff Neil (Heaven Lee) of Pea Ridge and Alicia White (pre-hubby, John Amsden) of Bella Vista; one brother: Craig Horvath (Judy) of Fife Lake, Mich.; two grandchildren, Blake Neil (Bailey) of Bella Vista and Caleb Neil of Pea Ridge; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, in First Baptist Church, Lowell.

A Celebration of Life was held at at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, in First Baptist Church, Lowell, with pastor Aaron Matthews officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the First Baptist Church, Lowell.

William Michael 'Mike' Reppond

William Michael 'Mike' Reppond, 73, of Pea Ridge, died Aug. 10, 2022. He was born April 17 1949.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Phillips; and parents, Artemus and Helen Reppond.

Survivors are his wife, Judy Reppond; daughter, Becky Olson; son, Donny Reppond; sister, Angela Reppond; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
