FFA 10th grade

Aden Christensen

My name is Aden Christensen. I am in 10th grade and I'm in Mr. Mason's Ag Mechanics class. I really enjoy being in this class because of all the things we have been able to learn. Recently, we learned how to use the oxy-acetylene torch to cut metal and make a bead in it. Another thing that I like about this class is that we get to use the wonderful machine called the CNC router, which cuts wood into what you program it to do. I have made numerous things with it including some Mother's day and Father's day presents. In addition to being in an Ag class, you also have the privilege of being in FFA, which stands for Future Farmers of America.

Christopher Connolley

Christopher Connolley is the son of Jason and Angela Connolley.

Why do I take an AG class? I enjoy being able to take part in something other than sitting in a classroom, working with hands-on projects, getting to go on some pretty awesome field trips, and the fact that I am learning skills that I will be able to use for the rest of my life. I started Pea Ridge AG just like anyone else, taking Survey of AG for my first year. When I first walked into class I wasn't sure what to expect, but knew that I had high hopes for what was to come. That first year was enjoyable but does not compare to the fascinating things myself and my class has got to learn about this year. Over the year we have gotten to spend more time in the shop and have been privileged to learn about a variety of shop skills such as woodworking and oxy acetylene practices. Also over the course of this last semester we went on some pretty cool field trips. Our first one was visiting the Arkansas Oklahoma State Fair. There we learned more about livestock judging and also got to spend some quality time with our fellow peers. We also got to take my favorite field trip of the year to Bass Pro. A selection of students got to spend a school day shopping around Bass Pro and eating a monstrous meal at Lamberts Cafe. If you get the chance to attend an AG class yourself I would highly recommend it.

Kevin Farar

Kevin Farar is the son of Marvin and Kay Farar.

I am in Ag/FFA because I believe that it will teach me skills that I can apply to almost any aspect of my life. When we go into the shop to work on our projects whatever they happen to be we are going to learn something valuable that I can use to better myself and others.

James Fort

James Fort is the son of Gene Fort.

I'm in Ag because it's fun and we get to work with different tools every day that most people have never heard of. We learn about animals and how to take care of certain animals

Casey Moore

My name is Casey Moore and I am in Mr. Mason's Ag Mechanics class. I think Mr. Mason is a really good teacher. He is a very funny guy as well. I am also in FFA and I am on the livestock judging team. FFA is a very good organization to be involved in because you can use things that you learn in FFA outside of school and it teaches you to be a leader.

Hagen Schader

My parents are Brian Schader and Sarah Fletcher.

I am in Ag because I love the outdoors and doing man things. I'm not much of a school person but I can stand Ag class. We work in the shop and build what we want. When we were not in the shop, we were in the classroom doing lessons on agricultural history and the present things about animals and outdoors.

Tyson Snow

Tyson Snow, son of Chris and Kasey Snow, is in ninth-grade Ag Mechanics.

I take Ag mechanics for the opportunities it can open up. I enjoy this class because I am a hands-on learner and I hate normal classrooms due to my hyper personality. I had to start off with animal science which was slow but we did quite a few of out of school activities like going to Bass Pro Shops and Barnwarming, we also learned about pretty interesting things in the class. Later after I joined into Ag mechanics where I was elected as one of many FFA officers. I look forward to the next thing I will learn and experiences I will have in my later years!.

Rhett Snyder

I am in Mr. Mason's Ag Mechanics. I have been in to agriculture for as long as I can remember. I run cattle and ponies most of my life. I am really in to FFA. I used to show lambs and cattle.

Nathaniel Thurman

I have personally really enjoyed being a part of the AG Mechanics class, it has really taught me a lot about welding and wood work. I really like it when we gather together and go into the shop and work on some projects. Mr. Mason is a really good teacher, he is very thorough with his lessons and I cannot wait to take another year of Ag. I have never had problems in this class I have always found it to be a lot of fun to be in, and I always learn something new when I come in here. The FFA is always doing fundraisers or having events to connect with people, and I think that is great knowing that the group wants to stay connected with the people. You don't find many groups who are very involved with the parents of students in the FFA. I really enjoy AG mechanics, and it is one of my favorite classes.

Carter Williams

My name is Carter and I like Ag Mechanics because I like working with my hands and in the shop. Mr. Mason has taught some cool things in the shop and working with the torch and the table saw. He has taught a lot of things about a lot of different tools.
