Peanut Butter Pie

1 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter
9-inch pre-baked pie shell
2 c. milk
1/4 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
3 eggs, separated
1 Tbsp. milk
2 Tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla
Mix powdered sugar and peanut butter until crumbly. Sprinkle half of peanut butter mixture into pie shell; set aside. In top of double boiler, scald milk. Combine flour, sugar and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to milk, stirring constantly. Cook until thickened. Beat egg yolks with 1 tablespoon milk; gradually add to hot mixture. Add butter and vanilla. Cool and pour into pie shell. Top with meringue. Sprinkle remaining peanut butter mixture on top of meringue.
