Wayne Cook

Wayne Paul Cook, 70, of Pea Ridge, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at his home.

He was born July 10, 1943, at Middleboro, Mass., to Herbert Lester Cook and Helen Margaret Mullen Cook.

He retired from T & K Lumber in Springdale as a lathe operator. He lived most of his life in Seligman, Mo., before moving to Pea Ridge to make his home.

He loved to fi sh, camp, watch Patriots football on TV and spend time with his grandchildren. He was a Catholic.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife Louise Cook of the home; three daughters, Tina Cook of Warsaw, Mo., Laurie Roggendorf and husband Dan, and Michelle Cook all of Pea Ridge; one son, Lloyd Cook and wife Irma of Gravette; one sister, Donna Lee Cook of Phoenix, Ariz.; and fi ve grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements are by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.

A memorial service will be held in Massachusetts at a later date.

Faye Marie Rippee

Faye Marie (Akers) Rippee, 78, Pea Ridge, died Sept. 15. She was born toJames Evan Coatney and Faye Presser, May 5, 1935, in the Willow Springs,., area.

Marie, as she was known to all who loved her, went to school in Cabool, Mo.

She was saved and baptized in 1958; she stayed faithful to her Lord. She married Morris Lee Akers and to this union three children were born - Debi, Cathi and Marty.

Morris passed away from a massive heart attack on Feb. 27, 1983. After his death, Marie stayed in the Mountain Grove area.

She met Rex Rippee in 1986 and they were married Jan. 9, 1988. Rex was the love of her life. Rex and Marie were devoted to one another and they shared a special love.

Marie and Rex moved from the Hartville, Mo., area and made their home in Pea Ridge, Ark., in October 2005; this move allowed her and Rex to spend time with their family, which had been a dream of theirs for many years.

Her family was important to her; she loved each one very much; she was proud of her kids, her grandkids, great-grandkids and her great-great-grandkids. She was known as Granny Moo to her great-grandchildren.

Marie was a very talented lady and was able to turn a house into a home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin sister who died at birth, three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald Rex Rippee of the home in Pea Ridge; two daughters, Debi Guinn and her husband, Clarence, Cathi Wilkinson and her husband, Herman, and one son, Marty Akers and wife, Mary Ann, all of Rogers, Ark.; a sister, Linda Young and her husband, Ed, of Mountain Grove, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Michael Millsap, Barry Guinn, Matthew Wilkinson, Ti◊any Gulledge, Chelsie Wilkinson-Ryner, Karissa Judy and Benjamin Akers;

15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren;

and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., in Rogers.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Westside Baptist Church in Pea Ridge with pastor Randy James o◊ciating.

Interment will follow in the Buttram’s Chapel Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Jean Ann Valente

Jean Ann Valente, 81, of Tulsa, Okla., died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013. Shemajorette, sang vocals with her four sisters growing up, known as “The Miller Sisters,” and was active with Rainbow Girls. She later worked for the local phone company.

One of Jean Ann’s favorite pastime and passion was bridge. Jean Ann was known by her infectious smile that showed her great capacity for love.

She was as an avid lover of jazz and opera, jewelry, cookbook collector and art lover.

Jean Ann was an extraordinary person who loved life to the fullest with deep passion, humor and love.

She and her husband, Don, shared their blissful years of love and companionship, residing in Tulsa where they enjoyed an active social life. Together they took cruises, enjoyed the opera and “Jewels of Jazz” music, and theater.

Her peaceful, vibrant approach to life was a real inspiration to our family and it is our prayer that she will continue to feel our love and appreciation.

Jean Ann glorifi ed God in her own radiant way, through her service and participation in many Tulsa community charitieswhere she served as chairman through the years.

She was able to adjust to the many changes of a lifetime and found happiness and rewarding activities throughout all life’s stages.

She truly had the gift of clever conversation and easily making new friends and keeping the old with her warm, genuine smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Faye Barron and Martha Harp.

Survivors include her two daughters, Terri Mc-Donough and husband David of Garfield, Ark., and Becky Slater and husband Danny of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three grandsons; two granddaughters; fi ve greatgranddaughters; four greatgrandsons; two sisters, Shirley Esche and Donna Gully of Rogers, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was at 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Moore’s Southlawn Chapel.
