PLANNING COMMISSION

FROM STAFF REPORTS

Planning Commission members met briefly Nov. 6 and discussed replacing street lights.

Street superintendent Nathan See told commissioners that the aluminum light poles were “cheap” and broke easily. He saidmaintaining them is extremely expensive and told planners he’s looking at having the electric company install street lights.

He said the developers of the golf course installed gas lights which were costly but the city replaced those when the golfcourse “failed.” He said the gas bill was $500 a month to the city and the new electric lights are more efficient.

Commissioners approved See’s plan and asked that he include specifications for the lights in the proposal to the utility companies.
