AREA EVENTS: Avoca spring clean-up scheduled

AVOCA — Avoca Spring Clean-Up is scheduled for 8:30 - 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12 at Town Hall. Pick up trash on town streets and park. There will be a dumpster for bulk items and a trailer for passenger tires and scrap metal.

Document shredding will be available.

Train ride scheduled

SELIGMAN, Mo. - The Seligman spring train ride is at 7:15 a.m. Saturday, May 12, and return at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The Arkansas and Missouri excursion train goes from Seligman, Mo., to VanBuren, Ark. It is an all day trip. It will be “Spring Arts and Craft Days” in Van Buren.

Prices for the ride are: $80, adult, first class car;

$72, senior 65 or older; $35, children 4 to 12 years old;

under 4 is free on all cars;

$80, dome top seating (no discount); $80, lower dome and caboose; $60 adult and $54 senior, vintage cars.

Snacks are the same on all cars - two free going and coming back. Each passenger will receive a free picture. Each car has a restroom.

See the beautiful Boston Mountains, go though Winslow tunnel, cross rivers, cross three high trestles,shop beautiful Van Buren.

Inside yard sale slated

SELIGMAN, Mo.

• Spaces are available for rent at an inside yard sale sponsored by the Seligman Chamber of Commerce Friday, May 18, and Saturday, May 19, at the Seligman Event Center north of Seligman on Missouri Highway 37.

There are spaces are for rent - an approximately 12- x 12-foot space rents for $20 for two days and smaller spaces rent for $10 for two days. The sale will be held rain or shine. Forinformation, call 417-662-3612 or 479-531-8255.

Seligman auction scheduled

SELIGMAN, Mo.

• Seligman Chamber of Commerce will hold an auction starting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 4, at the Chamber Event Center on Missouri Hwy. 37 north of Seligman.

Consignment items or donated items are being taken. Consignment items will be charged a consignment fee, all proceeds from donated items will go to the Chamber.
